Yoga at the Springs: 10 week card

Yoga at the Springs Breathe deeply, stretch fully, and ground yourself in the beauty of nature with Yoga at the Springs. Set against the serene backdrop of Historic Yellow Springs, these all-level sessions invite you to connect with movement, breath, and the peaceful energy of the natural surroundings.

Each class will meet at Chester Springs Studio before moving to a designated outdoor spot on campus. From open lawns to quiet creekside corners, the changing scenery enhances every practice. In the event of rain or extreme weather, sessions will be held indoors at the CSS.

Participants may purchase a 10-class punch card for flexible attendance or join us as a drop-in. Please bring your own mat, water bottle, and anything else you need for a comfortable outdoor experience. No prior yoga experience is necessary—just a willingness to move, breathe, and enjoy. Zentangle: Drawing for Creativity and Calm

Join us for a five-week exploration of Zentangle®, a meditative drawing method that uses simple, structured patterns to create beautiful, intricate artwork. Perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike, this course encourages mindfulness, focus, and creative freedom in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Each week, you’ll be introduced to new tangles (patterns), techniques for shading and composition, and creative ways to build your own unique designs. As you progress, you’ll develop not only artistic skills but also tools for relaxation and self-expression.

No drawing experience is necessary—all materials are provided ($15 materials fee). If you can hold a pen, you can enjoy the calming, creative world of Zentangle!

Earth & Art: Ceramics for Outdoors

In this class, participants will design and build ceramic pieces made to live outdoors—whether nestled in a garden, perched on a patio, or integrated into a favorite outdoor nook. We’ll explore both sculptural and functional forms such as planters, bird baths, garden markers, or weather-ready decorative elements.

Working with durable clay bodies and finishes suited for outdoor conditions, students will learn techniques for hand-building, surface texturing with natural materials, and selecting glazes designed to withstand the elements. Whether you're inspired by the organic forms of nature or looking to add personality to your outdoor space, this workshop offers an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting work that brings art into everyday environments.

Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike—this class celebrates the intersection of creativity, craftsmanship, and the natural world.

Full Course

Life Drawing: 10 week card

This class presents the opportunity to draw, paint or sculpt from the human figure without formal instruction. Students may pre-register for a 5 or 10-week class card. Cards are good for one year from date of purchase. They may be used during any semester until the expiration date. $243.00 member price for 10 weeks. Drop-ins are welcome at $27 member and $30 non-member per class and must pay the monitor at the beginning of each class.

Note: Village Walks will occur Thursday August 21st

Possibilities in Clay

Calendar Next available session starts Jul 10, 2025 at 6:30 pm, runs for 10 weeks

Learn to create ceramics by handbuilding, throwing, or a combination of both techniques. Sculptural, decorative, and functional possibilities in clay will be explored through brief demonstrations, class discussions, and individual consultations. Develop your own projects and experiment with hand-building techniques and basic throwing and altering skills. All levels welcome. Co-taught by Melissa Zook and Dina Schmidt.

 

This class is scheduled to be held in CCS, which is only accessable by stairs.
