Draw what you see by learning to see what you draw. Learn visual techniques that make drawing rewarding and fun. Discover ways to draw by establishing the underling structure from a variety of still life objects. Focus on drawing a new, uncluttered still life each week using graphite, charcoal, or the drawing material of your choice. Get individual encouragement and support as you progress at your own pace, with instructor demonstrations to guide you through techniques and materials. A materials list is provided.

Discover the unique art of watercolor batik on rice paper. Learn to apply alternating layers of melted wax and watercolor on Ginwashi rice paper, creating stunning textures and strong values. Begin with provided images, then create your own original painting with personalized guidance throughout the process. A $15 materials fee is due to the instructor on the first class.

This class is scheduled to be held on the upper level of the Fraley Studio, which is only accessable by stairs.

In this class you will have the opportunity to work from your previous outdoor paintings, sketches and photographic reference. This class can prepare you for your adventure out to nature to create plein air paintings. Various subjects will be covered and demonstrated on matters such as composition, color, linear and aerial perspective. Techniques on brushwork and paint handling and different methods of developing a painting will be presented and demonstrated. Come with your experience level and work at your pace to achieve desired results and growth in your work. A materials list is provided.

This class presents the opportunity to draw, paint or sculpt from the human figure without formal instruction. Students may pre-register for a 5 or 10-week class card. Cards are good for one year from date of purchase. They may be used during any semester until the expiration date. $243.00 member price for 10 weeks. Drop-ins are welcome at $27 member and $30 non-member per class and must pay the monitor at the beginning of each class.
