Make It Together: Art Time!
with Isabel Alff

A creative workshop series for young artists and their grown-ups. Make art and memories together in this joyful, hands-on series designed for children and their caregivers. Each week, we’ll explore a new open-ended art activity that invites collaboration, experimentation, and connection. Through playful projects using painting, printmaking, clay, collage, and more, grownups and kids will create side-by-side—and sometimes hand-in-hand.
Workshops are designed to engage early learners while giving adults a chance to slow down and enjoy the creative process, too. Whether you're stamping, sculpting, or painting a shared masterpiece, each session is an opportunity to explore new materials in a warm, welcoming environment.
Best for ages 3–6 with a caregiver
Only register child, adult attends free! No art experience needed. Dress for mess! All materials provided.Register for all five sessions or drop in for individual dates (if space allows).

Plein Air Perspectives: Outdoor Painting for Teens

Learn to see, interpret and record your subject matter among the beautiful gardens and historicbuildings on the property of Historic Yellow Springs for this one day Pastel Painting workshop.
Learn the tools of editing your composition when painting “En Plein Air” (outside).Discover how to use “atmosphere perspective” to create depth in your work.A critique will be provided at the end of class.
All levels are welcome!
Easels and drawing boards will be provided.
Please bring a small folding table if you own one.Bring your lunch or a snack for a brief picnic mid-day.

Young Artists Studio

Ages: 9 - 12
In this engaging studio-style class, preteens will dive into a wide range of artistic materials and techniques while developing their personal creative voice. Projects are designed to promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative risk-taking—building both artistic skill and confidence. Students will be encouraged to explore, experiment, and refine their ideas as they create meaningful, expressive works in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Planting Postcards

Ages: 5 - 13
Join Historic Yellow Springs in a creative workshop where learners, ages 5-13, can make their own postcard. Joined by a parent or guardian, participants will be ink-pressing plants and foliage onto paper, to make a beautiful and unique composition. Alongside all materials being provided, there will also be a short lesson on the history of Yellow Spring's postcards, and a quick instructor lead walk to our own on site garden. This is a Take-One-Leave-One workshop; After making as many postcards as you want- send one to a friend, and share some with Historic Yellow Springs!
