Explore the art of making a teapot in this focused five-week course. Students will begin by referencing different styles of teapots from functional and utilitarian to sculptural and whimsy in order to conceptualize a design to pursue. Demonstrations will cover how to make teapot bodies, lids, spouts and handles, and how to assemble all these components. Students will investigate and discuss the relationship of all the parts and pieces, and the balance of function and aesthetics when crafting a successful teapot . Perfect for those with wheel experience looking to expand their skills and creativity.
