Earth & Art: Ceramics for Outdoors
with Rich Holck
$420
In this class, participants will design and build ceramic pieces made to live outdoors—whether nestled in a garden, perched on a patio, or integrated into a favorite outdoor nook. We’ll explore both sculptural and functional forms such as planters, bird baths, garden markers, or weather-ready decorative elements.
Working with durable clay bodies and finishes suited for outdoor conditions, students will learn techniques for hand-building, surface texturing with natural materials, and selecting glazes designed to withstand the elements. Whether you're inspired by the organic forms of nature or looking to add personality to your outdoor space, this workshop offers an opportunity to create meaningful, lasting work that brings art into everyday environments.
Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike—this class celebrates the intersection of creativity, craftsmanship, and the natural world.
