Spend five weeks discussing and learning about the importance of form and function while creating your own unique place settings. Through crafting your own luncheon plate, dinner plate, bowl, and drinking vessel, explore the relationship between a place setting's components in action. Finally, pull the disparate pieces together with a thoughtful approach to your glazing.

Beyond Basics: Intermediate Ceramics

Beginners will build a strong foundation in wheel throwing through hands-on practice and personalized instruction. Students will learn essential skills including clay preparation, centering, and shaping basic forms such as cylinders and bowls. As confidence grows, the class will explore trimming techniques, handle attachment, surface decoration, and glazing. The final weeks will focus on finishing work and preparing pieces for firing. This class is ideal for those new to the pottery wheel and looking to create functional, finished pieces in a supportive studio environment.

Paint Like the Master's
with Jackie Kane
Develop your skills as you recreate an Old Master’s Painting! Join this fun and informative way to learn or advance your oil painting skills. You will learn the steps to oil painting and create your own copy (or interpretation) of a famous Old Master’s Painting of your choosing. Individual attention will be given to each student’s level of skill. Class will cover how to start a painting, color mixing, mediums, brush techniques, etc. for beginners, while experienced painters can get started on their Master Copy with expert guidance along the way.
We will be working with paintings by Master Artists’ whose work is copyright free and therefore now “in the public domain.” Master Copy paintings are created from any of the works of the Old Masters from over 70 years ago. (i.e., Picasso’s work is NOT permitted as it is not in the public domain.) If in question, simply Google, “Are (artist’s name) paintings copyright free? You want the answer to be (Artist’s) paintings are in the public domain. Suitable for beginners as well as advanced painters.
Bring a photo or print of your chosen Master Artist’s painting to the first class. If undecided you may bring several possibilities to class which we can discuss.
Average to proficient drawing skills are recommended.

Foundations in Throwing

Zen Gem Workshop
with Susan Trembeth, CZT
Discover the beauty and sparkle of Zentangle-inspired gemstone art in this relaxing and creative workshop. Using simple, mindful drawing techniques, students will learn how to create dazzling “zen gems” filled with shading, and dimension. Perfect for beginners and experienced tanglers alike, this class combines the meditative process of Zentangle with the elegance of faceted jewels. Leave class with a collection of shimmering gem-inspired artwork and a renewed sense of calm and creativity.
Please bring to workshop your basic Zentangle kit*, a Colorless Blender Pencil, white gel pen or white acrylic pen. Optional- set of colored pencils. The teacher will provide colored pencils to share for the class.
* If you do not have a basic Zentangle kit, you can purchase one from the teacher for $13.00.

Zentangle II: Tangle Time

Over four, two-hour classes you will build on the information learned in the Zentangle Basics class. Tangle Time expands your knowledge of “tangles” while exploring techniques that allow you to push your creativity to new heights. In each class you will expand your tangling techniques and add to your knowledge of tangles (patterns) Take your Zentangle journey ahead of basics to a level where you can create your own patterns in a fun and enjoyable way. Supplies: There will be a one-time supply fee of $12 payable to the instructor at time of first class if you do not have the basic Zentangle kit.
*It is recommended but not necessary that you take a basic Zentangle class first.

A Fresh Start ... Intro to Pastels

Whether you are a true beginner or you are looking to brush up on your drawing skills in charcoal and pastel, this class is your opportunity! Become familiar with the tools of pastel painting. Approach the easel with confidence with an understanding of the Elements of Design, Composition, Shape, Value and Color. You will receive plenty of individual attention and groups critiques will be offered at the end of each class.
