In this workshop we’ll explore the art of painting and sketching from life using a combination of watercolor, gouache, and dry media such as pencils and chalks. You'll learn strategies for working in various lighting conditions, adapting to changing weather, and capturing the beauty of your surroundings in expressive, on-site artwork. While we’ll spend time outdoors gathering inspiration and working directly from nature, portions of the workshop will be held indoors for demonstration, discussion, and studio refinement—so participants can enjoy the best of both environments. Whether you’re completing a full painting or creating quick studies, you’ll leave with new tools for incorporating outdoor experiences into your creative practice.
