Join us for a five-week exploration of Zentangle®, a meditative drawing method that uses simple, structured patterns to create beautiful, intricate artwork. Perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike, this course encourages mindfulness, focus, and creative freedom in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Each week, you’ll be introduced to new tangles (patterns), techniques for shading and composition, and creative ways to build your own unique designs. As you progress, you’ll develop not only artistic skills but also tools for relaxation and self-expression.

No drawing experience is necessary—all materials are provided ($15 materials fee). If you can hold a pen, you can enjoy the calming, creative world of Zentangle!

Enjoy the beauty of Chester Springs as we explore and express the landscape in oil paint. In this class, learn visual skills to compose a strong composition to create space and mix colors. Sky, clouds and atmosphere and their effect on the landscape will be the core of the class. Drawing with the brush will be emphasized to develop brushwork techniques and skills. Demonstrations will be conducted in simplifying and blocking in the painting with bold brush strokes and color mixing.

Beginners will build a strong foundation in wheel throwing through hands-on practice and personalized instruction. Students will learn essential skills including clay preparation, centering, and shaping basic forms such as cylinders and bowls. As confidence grows, the class will explore trimming techniques, handle attachment, surface decoration, and glazing. The final weeks will focus on finishing work and preparing pieces for firing. This class is ideal for those new to the pottery wheel and looking to create functional, finished pieces in a supportive studio environment.

Explore the world of clay in Building with Clay, a hands-on class that delves into various handbuilding techniques for crafting unique pots. Learn the art of constructing with drape molds, press molds, and other innovative methods. Enhance your creations with slips, oxides, and surface treatments like trailing, inlay, masking, and wax resist – all contributing to the emphasis on the finished form. Designed especially for homeschool students, this class introduces a wide range of art techniques that may not be easily explored at home. From large-format painting and printmaking to sculpture and collage, each week offers a brand-new artistic adventure. Projects are tailored to a mixed-age range group, with activities differentiated by skill level. Older students are encouraged to take on leadership roles, while younger artists will benefit from their guidance and inspiration.
