Planting Postcards
with Emma Dixon & Maddy O'Reilly
Ages: 5 - 13
Join Historic Yellow Springs in a creative workshop where learners, ages 5-13, can make their own postcard. Joined by a parent or guardian, participants will be ink-pressing plants and foliage onto paper, to make a beautiful and unique composition. Alongside all materials being provided, there will also be a short lesson on the history of Yellow Spring's postcards, and a quick instructor lead walk to our own on site garden. This is a Take-One-Leave-One workshop; After making as many postcards as you want- send one to a friend, and share some with Historic Yellow Springs!
Ceramics Date Night

In this Ceramics Date Night, you’ll get your hands dirty in the best way with a playful evening of clay exploration. Whether you’re building a keepsake together or creating your own matching mugs, this session is all about creativity and fun in a welcoming studio setting.
Complementary Wine, beer, and light refreshments keep the vibe relaxed and festive. Come ready to make something memorable—side by side.

Veteran's Art Day: Raku

Immerse yourself in the modern version of Japanese Raku pottery. Discover the unique techniques of decorating, glazing, and rapid firing that define this distinctive art form. With step-by-step instruction to guid you through the smoke and fire process, you'll create and finish your own stunning Raku piece. Students will chose from a selection of pre made forms to paint and fire.

Veteran's Art Day: Zentangle
Discover the calming and creative practice of Zentangle® in this two-hour workshop designed especially for veterans. Zentangle is a simple, structured drawing method that uses repeating patterns to create intricate, beautiful designs—no art experience required.
During this introductory session, you’ll learn the basics of Zentangle, explore a few foundational patterns, and experience how this mindful art form can support relaxation, focus, and self-expression.
All materials are provided. If you can hold a pen, you can enjoy the restorative benefits of Zentangle.

Celestial Prints: Stars, Moons & Night Skies

Unwind under the (imagined) stars. Explore dreamy, layered printmaking using white and metallic inks on dark paper to capture the magic of night skies. Create moonlit landscapes, starlit scenes, or your own constellation-inspired designs using simple techniques like stamping, monoprinting, and masking.
As part of our Creative Pairings series, this grown-up art night invites you to relax, create, and connect—wine and snacks included.
