Chester Springs Studio Ceramics Open Studio
with Matt Wren

Open Studio is available exclusively to students (ages 16 and up) enrolled in a full-semester ceramics class. Students must register for Open Studio at the same location as their class to avoid transporting pottery between studios. Use this time to continue working on class projects. Tech support is offered during select Open Studio hours.
- Monday: 9:30-12:00
- Tuesday: 1 pm - 3:30 pm
- Wednesday/Thursday: 4 pm - 6 pm
- Saturday/Sunday: 1 pm - 6:30 pm
Portrait Painting: Building Skills and Confidence

Explore the art of portrait painting in this in-depth, multi-week course designed to guide you from foundational techniques to more advanced skills. Learn how to simplify complex forms into approachable shapes and develop a deeper understanding of facial anatomy and structure. Working from a live model, you'll practice imprimatura (underpainting), refine your color mixing abilities, and master the role of light and value to create depth and realism in your work. Step by step, you’ll build confidence in your process while discovering your personal approach to expressive, lifelike portraits. Whether you're expanding your skills or diving into portraiture for the first time, this course offers a supportive environment for growth and creative exploration.

10 week card: Yoga at the Springs

Yoga at the Springs Breathe deeply, stretch fully, and ground yourself in the beauty of nature with Yoga at the Springs. Set against the serene backdrop of Historic Yellow Springs, these all-level sessions invite you to connect with movement, breath, and the peaceful energy of the natural surroundings.
Each class will meet on the front porch of the Lincoln before moving to a designated outdoor spot on campus. From open lawns to quiet creekside corners, the changing scenery enhances every practice. In the event of rain or extreme weather, sessions will be held indoors.
Participants may purchase a 10-class punch card for flexible attendance or join us as a drop-in. Please bring your own mat, water bottle, and anything else you need for a comfortable outdoor experience. No prior yoga experience is necessary—just a willingness to move, breathe, and enjoy. Life Drawing: 10 week card

This class presents the opportunity to draw, paint or sculpt from the human figure without formal instruction. Students may pre-register for a 5 or 10-week class card. Cards are good for one year from date of purchase. They may be used during any semester until the expiration date. $243.00 member price for 10 weeks. Drop-ins are welcome at $27 member and $30 non-member per class and must pay the monitor at the beginning of each class.

Block Party: Printmaking with LEGOs

Bring a friend and tap into your playful side! In this out-of-the-box printmaking night, we’re using LEGOs and other building toys to stamp and layer bold, geometric prints. It’s tactile, experimental, and unexpectedly fun—a great way to unwind, get creative, and leave with one-of-a-kind artwork.
Part of our Creative Pairings series, this workshop pairs creativity with wine, snacks, and laughter in a welcoming studio environment.
